ALPD Awards at New Technology Showcase

UK – The 2022 ALPD Award winners will be announced at the New Technology Showcase on Friday 27 January.

The Awards being made are The Michael Northen Award sponsored by the Mousetrap Foundation and the WYSIWYG Programmers Award sponsored by WYSIWYG.

Michael Northen was the first credited lighting designer in the UK and his work on The Mousetrap can still be seen in the West End today.

The winner of the Michael Northen Award will receive a £500 cash prize, a 512 ETCnomad package, a Vectorworks licence for 12 months and a six-month mentoring scheme with an  industry professional to run alongside the initial stage of their career. The winner will also receive a copy of Michael’s book, Northen Lights.

The winner of the WYSIWYG Award will receive a £500 voucher prize, a 12 month WYSIWYG Perform lease, worth $2199 USD, and a 512 ETCnomad and a six-month mentoring scheme with an  industry professional to run alongside the initial stage of their career.

The New Technology Showcase will take place at the Royal Central School of Speech & Drama, and is organised by White Light, The ALPD and RCSSD. As always, a variety of leading manufacturers and industry experts will be in attendance, offering the opportunity to experience some of the industry’s latest products, as well as taking part in Q&A sessions in front of an audience invited by the ALPD and White Light.
