Performance Venues Technician - Guildhall School of Music & Drama

Permanent, Full time (35 hours per week over 5 of 7 days, including weekends)

Salary Range: £26,180 - £35,540 (including London Weighting) per annum depending on experience/performance

The Guildhall School of Music & Drama is situated in the heart of the City of London and is internationally recognised as one of the leading conservatoires for training of musicians, actors, stage managers and theatre technicians.

The Guildhall School of Music & Drama Performance Venues Department manages more than 1,150 events each year across 5 principal venues, supporting the learning processes in Music & Drama across all technical areas in sound, lighting, rigging and production management. The School is rightly proud of its reputation in both technical & operational facilities and is equipped to deliver a world class experience at all levels.

The Performance Venues Department is now recruiting. We require a Technician with a strong lighting & electrical background to provide high quality technical support and maintenance for all Guildhall School venues, productions and teaching, ensuring the highest levels of service to staff, students and other venue users.

The successful candidate will join a multi-skilled team covering all disciplines and we anticipate interviewing candidates from a variety of backgrounds. Responsibilities include lighting, sound, AV, projection and flying in both theatrical and concert venues and stage setups for concerts both classical and non-classical. The ability to work with and inspire young people whilst maintaining a safe working environment is essential.
