Technical Vacancy (full-time) - Product Application Specialist (salary negotiable depending on experience)

The position of Product Application Specialist has arisen with Artistic Licence, a world leader in the lighting controls industry.

You will become the Artistic Licence product expert, with an in-depth understanding of the operation and application of the broad range of lighting infrastructure solutions. A largely remote-working position, the job will entail travel to customers’ venues and installations to provide pre- and post-sales technical advice, support and troubleshooting. It will also include training of our distributors’ technical staff both remotely and on-site, plus generation of technical training material such as application notes and ‘how-to’ videos.

You should have a wealth of knowledge and practical experience in the use of DMX512, RDM and Art-Net/sACN, and a familiarity of how these protocols can be interfaced with DALI.

While not an explicitly sales-oriented role, you should be comfortable liaising with customers at the decision-making level – be that during field product demonstrations, trade show meetings or site visits.

On the administrative side, you will be expected to handle support questions (via email or phone) and to assist with tender applications or project enquiries.

Other information: the successful candidate will be trained by Wayne Howell, founder of Artistic Licence and designer of all its products. The training phase will involve a significant amount of office-based time. Once you are fully up-to-speed, you will be expected to visit the office on an approximately monthly basis for meetings and briefings.

All candidates should hold a full driving licence and be eligible to work in the UK. The package will include an allowance for travel and a NEST statutory pension. The holiday allowance is 25 days plus bank holidays.

Artistic Licence operates from a newly refurbished heritage property in the small town of Bovey Tracey on the edge of Dartmoor National Park. The cities of Exeter and Plymouth are within easy reach, as is the beautiful south Devon coastline.
