Germany – Built in 1967, the Congress Hall in Saarbrücken/Germany is home to a range of a broad variety of events such as conferences, trade fairs and conventions as well as shows and concerts of all kinds, some of which are also broadcast on radio and television by public broadcaster Saarländischer Rundfunk (SR). Following the Hall’s renovation and reopening in September 2023, also the location’s control room of the SR was equipped with a modern audio infrastructure. With the installation of a Lawo mc²36 MkII all-in-one production mixing console and two Lawo AoIP stageboxes, the SR replaced the previous analogue system with a console that meets the broadcaster’s quality standards in terms of performance, flexibility and efficiency.

Germany – From the classroom to the big stage: a dream come true, thanks to 6K UNITED!. Every year, the project organisers orchestrate gigantic choir concerts with around 6,000 school children, who fill the biggest concert halls on a tour across Germany. In 2024, 6K UNITED! played eight shows in six cities (Berlin, Hamburg, Düsseldorf, Munich, Mannheim and Hanover), which included a choirmaster, vocal coaches and a 17-head live band. At 6K UNITED!, the concert hall becomes the stage and calls for a sophisticated sound engineering concept that both performs monitoring tasks for the choirs in the tiers, while enabling perfect localisation for the audience. To achieve this, general technical contractor Melodus GmbH opted to combine a classic line-array stereo system with immersive audio for the front-fills, paired with a zactrack SMART tracking system.
