The 2000 Entertainment Design Magazine Awards to Honor Outstanding People and Products in Entertainment Design and Technology
The 2000 EDDY Awards will honour:
* the design team for Blue Man Group Live At Luxor (Las Vegas), including original Blue Man creators Matt Goldman, Phil Stanton, and Chris Wink, set designer David Gallo, set designer Lauren Helpern, video designer Caryl Glaab, associate video designer Kevin Frech, lighting designer Matt McCarthy, associate lighting designer Marc Janowitz, sound designer Todd Perlmutter, sound designer Ross Humphrey, costume designer Patricia Murphy, associate costume designer Chase Tyler, and Zoetrope designer Scott Fisher;
* costume designer Ann Roth, who designs for both the theatre and film. Recent credits include The Tale of the Allergist’s Wife for Manhattan Theatre Company, and such films as The Talented Mr. Ripley, The English Patient, and the upcoming Finding Forrester;
* the design team for Anne Bogart’s SITI Company, including lighting designer Mimi Jordan Sherin, sound designer Darron L. West, set designer Neil Patel, and costume designer James Schuette. Their work was seen recently in the Next Wave Festival at BAM inWar of the Worlds, conceived and directed by Anne Bogart and written by Naomi Iizuka;
* Tait Towers, builders of sets for concert tours. Clients range from the Rolling Stones, Tina Turner, and U2 to Kiss, Reba McEntire, ‘N Sync and Britney Spears.

On the same evening as the 2000 EDDY Awards on December 8, there will be a special lighting industry panel titled "Products of the Century, " from 6:00- 7:30 pm in AMC Empire Theatre 9 (on level 4). This discussion of the most important lighting products of the 20th century will be moderated by Steve Terry, head of the systems integration group of Fourth Phase, sponsor of the panel. Panelists include Jim Bornhorst, Dave Cunningham, Richard Hart, Gordon Pearlman, Nils Thorjussen, and Keny Whitwright.

8:30 pm – EDDY Awards presentation
